TeyaLauray: A Voice, A Vision, A Legacy

Born and raised in Compton, California, TeyaLauray discovered her passion for music at just eight years old. With the unwavering support of her parents, she took center stage at talent shows and local events, inspired by legendary voices like Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, and Tina Turner. Mimicking their powerful tones, she quickly became known as an exceptional young performer.

Her journey began in the church, where she realized her gift had the power to move people. As a member of the choir, she watched in awe as her voice brought congregations to their feet. This ignited a passion not just for singing, but for entertaining and inspiring others.

Life, however, presented challenges. TeyaLauray put her music career on hold to care for her ailing grandmother, who left her with words that would shape her future: “Always keep God first.” Honoring that promise, she stepped back into the spotlight, bringing her gift to television productions, live stage plays, and collaborations with major artists.

TeyaLauray’s talent has led her to share the stage with Howard Hewitt, James DeBarge, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Ali Woodson of The Temptations, and Keith Washington. She’s provided background vocals for YO-YO, KNOCTURNAL, Mac Milly, TC, and more. Her career has spanned from gospel, where she was a former member of Divine Praise, to high-energy performances at renowned venues such as The Key Club, The Conga Room, The Watts Festival, and The Cellar.

Destiny brought her to Atlanta, Georgia, where she continues to elevate her music career. She has performed at BET After Party, Wild Bill’s, Apache Café, Time 2 Shine Music Showcase, and even hosted the West Side Historic African Festival. Her presence is rapidly growing on the East Coast as she remains dedicated to her craft.

Beyond music, TeyaLauray is also a fashion entrepreneur, launching her own luxury brand, House of Lauray LLC. Her passion for creativity extends into the fashion world, blending music and style to create an unstoppable force.
